Oops! I forgot to update our blog yesterday. I am sorry!
Today we painted on our name. Our name was spelled out in dried glue on construction paper. Some chose to finger paint on their name and some chose to use a paint brush. We played instruments at circle today to a song called, "Stop and Go". This song is a great way to practice controlling our impulses. Have a great long weekend! Remember - NO SCHOOL on Monday! Today we decorated a cut out of the first letter of our name. We squeezed glue onto our paper and put puff balls and sequins on the glue. Squeezing glue bottles is a great way to increase the fine motor muscles in little hands. We had a tornado drill this morning and the kids did very well! We go into the basement of the elementary and the whole elementary was down there as well. It was pretty exciting for our little ones!
At the table today we decorated a cover for the kids individual goal binders. They used markers, crayons and stickers. We sang a new song during circle called "School Family" in this song the kids get to shake a friends hand, give a high five, give a pinky hug and give a hug. We are working hard on developing peer relationships and this song is a great way to start! During circle we charted how we get to school and then counted to see which group was more, car riders or bus riders. We will continue this activity again tomorrow.
