Thank you for wearing red today! It was a great way to reinforce our learning! We sorted colors today with animals and vehicles. We talked about the colors, counted the objects, and worked on categories with the objects. Come see Mrs. Vaughan and me at Parent Learning Night tonight! We are presenting about music and learning. See everyone in green tomorrow!

We had so much fun finger painting today! Some children were hesitant to touch the paint in the beginning but they all ended up with paint all over their hands by the end! We talked about how it felt wet, cold, and slimy on our hands. We predicted what would happen when we mixed colors. We practiced counting today with "Pete the Cat" and his four groovy buttons!
*Do not forget to check your e-mail! You will be receiving an e-mail regarding Parent-Teacher Conferences, if you have not already. *Friday, October 11 - No School (Staff PD) Have a great weekend! Today, the fun continues with another fun play recipe. We froze shaving cream!!! It was icy cold & super fluffy. The shaving cream was crunchy feeling at first then became fluffy and expanded as it thawed. We had cars to drive in it which helped for those who originally didn't want to touch it. In the gym we used the parachute working of following directions of moving it up and down, fast and slow. Later we put soft balls on it that bounced around like popcorn popping.
*Please check your child's folder, we will be starting a color theme next week and would like for the kids to be dressed in the colors we will be working on each day to help make it fun and meaningful! We practiced cutting/snipping cooked spaghetti noodles. It sticky, fun and easy to cut. Our new song for the week is "The Factory Song" it is about different vehicles that are made in a factory and the sounds they make. We sing about a car, motorcycle, bus, train and helicopter. We are working real hard on playing with our friends and taking turns during circle time, gym time and center time.
Good evening! I am so sorry for the late post today. My afternoon got away from me. Mrs. Vaughan and I had a fabulous afternoon of Conscious Discipline training today! We are excited to start incorporating jobs in the classroom this week! We worked on scooping and tweezing today at the table. The kids had a lot of fun "feeding" the animals with scoops and tongs.
