We explored a pumpkin today! We predicted what would be inside of the pumpkin before we opened it up. We felt the slimey, gooey insides of the pumpkin and pulled out the seeds. We left the seeds and guts in a sensory tub to play with tomorrow! We made our fingers strong with pumpkin spice play dough at the table. It smelled so yummy!

We were really excited to see all of the costumes tomorrow, however, we have been told that children are not allowed to wear costumes to school. We do apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
We did more predicting today with mixing red and yellow paint on a white pumpkin. We ended up with some of the prettiest colors of orange. In our sensory table we added orange food coloring to the water and wiggly eyes and pretended it was monster soup. We never made it out to the playground today due to the rain but enjoyed our extra time playing with our friends using our imaginations during center time. If you would like for your child to wear their costume on Thursday feel free!
It was so wonderful to meet with all of you last week!
We welcomed a new friend, Jazmyn, into our afternoon class today. Welcome to our school family, Jazmyn! We are happy you are here! We used tongs to pick up spiders at the table today. Using tongs is a great way to practice our fine motor skills. Our song this week is called "There's a Spider on the Floor". We move our spider (fingers) to our knee, thigh, belly, face, and head. We he gets to our head we brush him off and say goodbye to him as he crawls out the door. Today we got to learn about fire safety first hand from the firefighters! They brought a fire truck and ambulance for us to learn about. The fireman put on his fire gear to teach the kids when they saw a fireman dressed up he is there to keep them safe. We worked on puzzles today for our opening activity and had fun exploring our science center some more. I am looking forward to meeting with you over the next couple of days!
